Instructors / Assesors

Qualification of instructors

  1. Qualifications:
  • Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or,
  • Category B1, B3, B2 or C Part 66 License, endorsed with the particular aircraft type.

In addition T1 (B1) and T3 (B2) shall have the following qualifications and experience to instruct in the respective course levels:

  • a valid category B1 aircraft maintenance license endorsed with the particular aircraft type or
  • at least three years experience in aircraft maintenance instruction in a Part 145 or Part 147 organization

In addition T4:

  • a valid category B1 or C aircraft maintenance license endorsed with the particular theoretical aircraft type training to T1 level or a category B1 or C aircraft maintenance license endorsed with a particular aircraft type or
  • at least three years experience in aircraft maintenance instruction in a Part 145 or Part 147 organization
  1. Specific training:
  • Training in instruction techniques;
  • Training in Human Factors;
  • Knowledge of Part-66 and Part-147 requirements;
  • Be familiar with the procedures outlined in the MTOE
  1. Experience:
  • At least three years experience in related aircraft maintenance and/or maintenance training.

Qualification of knowledge examiners/practical assessors

  1. Qualifications:
  • Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or,
  • Category B1, B3, B2 or C Part 66 License, endorsed with the particular aircraft type
  1. Specific training:
  • Training in instruction techniques;
  • Training in Human Factors;
  • Knowledge of Part-66 and Part-147 requirements;
  • Be familiar with the procedures outlined in the MTOE
  1. Experience:
  • At least three years experience in related aircraft maintenance and/or maintenance training.

Hiring new instructors

In order to hire new instructors, these shall comply with all necessary training and experience requirements, as specified in this section.

Additionally, they shall attend a few sessions, as students, and they will later on be assessed via an inspection carried out by the Training Manager, in which they shall teach a few chapters different to those included in the scope of the MTO

Hiring new Knowledge Examiners and Practical Assessors

Knowledge examiners and practical assessors must be seen to be competent and fit for the post by the Quality and/or Training Manager before their name is included in the MTOE
